William Dean, Ph.D.
Chairman of the department, earned his master's degree in 1975 from Portland State University and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1985. He teaches courses in World Civilization, European History, Political Structures and the History of Russia and England. He has traveled in South America, the Middle East and Russia, and he lived in England for two years. Current Projects: Dr. Dean is working on new book about John Wesley and his times; it should be on its way soon.
