Professional Development

PDU Validation Form

Professional Development is a critical part of the education process as students move from academia into their careers. Professional are often required to earn PDUs, CEUs, or some other type of documentation for extended learning in their field. A number of opportunities exist to provide students with professional experiences while still in college.  Students are required to accumulate 16 professional development units (PDUs) during their four years at Olivet. The documentation of PDUs is part of the Portfolio Assignment for FACS 498. PDU meetings and activities should be documented by having a FACS PDU Validation Form signed at each event. For a meeting/event to qualify there must be an opportunity for networking as well as a presentation by a professional. The following organizations are a few of many that welcome students to their meetings.  Most of the organizations have a schedule of events posted on their Webpages. For more information ask an FACS department faculty member.
