Riese, Adam (1492 - 1559)

Riese was a German mathematician. He wrote arithmetic textbooks that taught people how to use a calculating board that was simialr to an abacus. His second book, Rechnung auff der linihen Federn actually was published in over 100 editions, a remarkable accomplishment in any time period.
