Ramanujan, Srinivasa (1887 - 1920)

Ramanujan was an Indian mathematician who with very little formal training in mathematics made significant contributions to several branches of the mathematics. He died at the realtively young age of 32 but was thought to be an elite mathematical talent in the league with Euler and Gauss.
