Hipparchus (c. 190 - c. 120 BC)

Hipparchus was a Greek astronomer and mathematician. He is considered to be the first mathematician to developed trigonometric tables. Trigonometry enabled the Greek astronomers to work with any triangle which simplified the quantitative solution of astronomical models. He also solved several problems in spherical trigonometry.
