Galileo Galilei (1564 – 1642)

Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer and mathematician. He made improvements to the telescope and made astronomical observations that lead to his support of Copernicus theory that placed the sun at the center of the solar system. He is known as the Father of Modern Science, the father of modern observational astronomy and the father of modern physics. Galileo produced what is now known as Galileo's paradox, that there are many perfect squares as there are whole numbers.
