Frisius, Gemma (1508-1555)

Frisius was a Dutch mathematician, physician, and cartographer/instrument maker. He set up a workshop that produced accurate globes and mathematical instruments. He described the survey method of triangulation that is still used today. He wrote Tractatus de Ammulo Astronomicas which applied trignometruc methods to astronomical problems.
