Da Vinci, Leonardo (1452-1519)

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter, sculpter, and expert in many areas. He lacked any formal education in mathematics but studied the subject under his close friend Luca Pacioli. Through their relationship he did the artwork for Pacioli's De divina proportione including the skeletal form of the solids. No author ever had a better illustrator.
