Cauchy, Augustin-Louis (1789-1857)

Cauchy was a French mathematician who is best known for his work in complex analysis but also contributed to Calculus, algebra and mathematical physics. Several results are named after him including Cauchy's integral theorem, Cauchy's integral formula, Cauchy distribution, and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality.
