Janos Bolyai was a Hungarian mathematician. He is considered to be one of the founders of non-Euclidean geometry. In 1831 Janos published "Appendix explaining the Absolutely True Science of Space" as an appendix to his father's book, presenting a geometry that did not depend on Euclid's fifth axiom.
