Al-Farabi (872 - 950/1)

Persian mathematician called Abu Nasr al-Farabi. He was the first Muslim to develop a non-Aristotelian logic. Al-Farabi discussed contingencies, and the relation between logic and grammar. He is also credited with categorizing logic into the idea and the proof.
