The Nine Planets - A Multimedia Tour by Bill Arnett

This website is an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of each planet and the major moons in our solar system. Each page has my text and NASA's images, some have sounds and movies, most provide references to additional related information.

Star Child

The StarChild site is a service of the High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC), Dr. Nicholas E. White (Director), within the Exploration of the Universe Division (EUD) at NASA/ GSFC.

This is a wonderful site, full of information geared to specific age groups.

Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City, Utah has some great resources.  One of which is a PowerPoint slide show and an assignment to correlate with that presentation.

Information for Beginning Astronomers

The first and best advice to beginning astronomers is to find an astronomy club to join. Kankakee has their very own astronomy club called Kankakee Area Stargazers.  You will find friendly folks, lots of good advice and get a chance to look thru a variety of binoculars and telescopes to help you determine what's best for you. Don't be afraid to ask "dumb" questions. You can't learn unless you ask and besides it gives the old-timers a chance to showoff!

This link has a wealth of information for the beginning astronomer, well worth the click.
