Professional Meetings
Students should feel free to attend meetings of the organizations listed below. In most cases there will be a Professional Development Unit (PDU) form that you can pick up at the meeting to verify your attendance. These should be collected and saved for your portfolio assignment in FACS 498. There are also validation forms available on the Webpage under Students/forms that you can take to the meeting to obtain a signature for proof of attendance. You need to attend professional meetings/activities for a total of 16 hours to meet requirements for FACS 498 which is taken the fall semester of your senior year. Ideally you will try to obtain 4 PDUs each year. One hour participation equals one PDU.
Meetings listed on the Websites below are not the only meetings that will count toward your professional development. Please feel free to ask your professors about other meetings that might be appropriate. Ask your professors for details on these meetings and for registration forms. Details for most meetings can be found in the red notebook at the secretary/reception desk, second floor Weber Center at ONU.
