Disney's influence is strongly felt. The story is pat an quite predictable, simple and somewhat familiar. The movie tries to be a kids movie, and the story follows in that vein. But at the same time it tries to be a movie for grown-up kids and the story is far too simple and overdone to grab much attention in that arena.

Characterization in voice is sometimes difficult, yet this show does well and has a great cast. By far the most entertaining is the sounds, not words that come from some of the characters.

Excellent computer imagry and design. This is the one area where Ice Age is unique. Very distinctive art that doesn' appear to copy anyone.

Although the story is rather flat, the movie is very entertaining and you leave the theatre laughing...mostly due to a particularly clever ending!

The hilarious intro and coinciding ending are worth the price of admission alone...possibly even the DVD purchase!
