Enemey at the Gates - 86
Story: 26 - A creative story that amounts to a battle for supremecy by 2 snipers. Bravo for not writing in any American characters (too cliche), and more so for displaying the startling effect that propaganda can play in any conflict. However, a giant cliche was unearthed for the ending, no spoiler, but you can see it coming a mile away.

Acting: 29 - Ed Harris is fabulous, although a little weak with the accent. Jude Law makes you believe that he could be your little brother off to fight the war. Wonderful supporting actors.

Creators: 20 - Battle scenes were harrowingly realistic, if it were not for Saving Private Ryan, this film would have etched itself as one of the great war films.

Impact: 10 - What can make or break a war? Propaganda. It forgets the detailed errors that a "hero" can make.

Modifiers: + 1 - Almost worth it to see the closing credits. Very interesting!

Evolution - 67  none
Story: 14 -  Ghostbusters meets X-Files. Sounds great on paper, but the shadow of the original Ghostbusters was very very long indeed.

Acting: 26 -  Good cast, Orlando Jones proves he can be serious for a few minutes and Duchovny shows he can be funny for 90 minutes. No Oscars for these folks, but good acting.

Creators: 18 -  The effects were good. Some stuff again stolen right from Ghostbusters, but I guess a director can steal his own stuff.

Impact: 6 -  Entertaining, but you cant quite shake the feeling that you have seen this somewhere before...

Modifiers: + 3 -  No spoiler, but the last 20 seconds of the movie gives the best laugh of the whole film. Can we say "marketing genius"?
