History of Olivet SIFE
Olivet Nazarene University created its first SIFE team over the academic year of fall 1989-Spring 1990. Even though this was a newly created organization on campus, Olivet SIFE was able to earn the award Rookie of the Year at the Regional Competition in the Spring of 1990. Since that time, Olivet SIFE has developed into a growing and dynamic club that continually seeks to strengthen the quality of its projects and to expand the width of its impact into new fields, including the global economy. Under the leadership of its current faculty sponsor, Dr. Lynda Allen who took over leadership in the fall of 2003, Olivet SIFE has continued to evolve and grow. Today, SIFE is Olivet’s largest and most active student organization. Students challenge themselves to plan, create, and develop a variety of projects that have a meaningful impact on the community around them. In addition, Olivet’s SIFE team has always desired to be distinctively servant oriented, helping those in less fortunate situations to better their lives. In so doing, ONU SIFE hopes to change the world one life at a time.
